Hello all its riddle43, with some Pirate Bay news for you. According to ERNESTO at Torrent Freak, T-mobile was asked by IFPI Austria,an association of Austria’s music industry was ordered to block access to the site for its subscribers by the Commercial Court of Vienna earlier this month. IFPI Austria, released a statement here it is.
“For the further development of the online music market that is a very gratifying decision. We offer the providers to work together towards a legally compliant and easy implementation of site-blocking.”
LSG a large music rights group in Austria that represents over 13,500 artists sent out several of its own notices to Austrian ISPs urging them to follow suit and block access to the site.
Helmut Spudich a spokesman for T-Mobile told the Austrian tech site Future Zone that the company did not plan to comply.
“We will not comply with this request, and access to The Pirate Bay will not be blocked,” the spokesperson said, adding that it was the authorities, not music rights groups, that “should implement clear legal regulations with regard to Internet blocking in Austria.”
T-Mobile was not the only ISP to receive the letter from LSG but was the only one to respond that they will not be blocking The Pirate Bay.
This order also clarified that the Internet providers will have to pay the costs for future blockades, which may make ISPs more hesitant to comply without protest.
Whether copyright holders will indeed take T-Mobile and other ISPs to court to broaden the existing blockade has yet to be seen.”
Does this mean that T-Mobile likes The Pirate Bay? Or just won’t be pushed around by people that don’t make the laws?
As more news becomes available well keep you up to date.
Thanks for reading.
I’m sure blocking the site will prevent the other 500 TPB proxies also? These stupid copyright pushers are running out of ideas. There is nothing they can do but sit back and watch their creations given away to literally millions of people. Real company’s like Rockstar still break record sales in the golden age of piracy. You don’t see them crying like Metallica.
if it wasn’t for Metallica (mainly) Lars we wouldn’t see so much bulling by big company’s like we do today. They should learn how to work with it like other company’s have over the years.
