Commodore Pet: The smartphone

Good news everyone!!!!!

I just fall in this fresh news that for sure will be a bomb the most of you old farts like me.

Commodore-Pet-1

The Commodore brand will let fall a tear to readers lived in the ’80s or nostalgic in general, but do not confuse the company, Commodore failed over twenty years ago, with the newly Commodore Business Machines ltd (CBM), a company with head office in London recently founded by an Italian duo, Massimo Canigiani and Carlo Scattolini, that with old company only shares the same name (apparently it was possible to record the name and mark under the laws in force in Europe). All this just to say that the name Commodore in this case is not synonymous with nothing, if not of itself.

So why we are talking of this new CBM? Because it is preparing to launch its first Android smartphone, Commodore Pet (another historical name), which of course will be stuffed even emulators.

Commodore-Pet-3

Here the specs:

  • Display: 5,5” IPS full HD
  • CPU: MediaTek octa-core a 1,7 GHz
  • RAM: 3 GB
  • Storage: 32 GB espandible (with microSD 64 GB)
  • Rear Camera: 13 megapixel
  • Front Camera: 8 megapixel
  • Network: LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, radio FM, dual SIM
  • Battery: 3.000 mAh
  • OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop

There will be pre-installed on Commodore Pet Frodo C64, a famous emulator for the Commodore 64, in addition to another emulator not specified, however, because the new CBM nods precisely to those nostalgic that we mentioned at the beginning. The back cover should also be removed and replaced with “hundreds of cover”, or so we read in the comments of this post on the Facebook page of the company.

Commodore-Pet-2

Availability and price – Commodore Pet will be available soon on the official website, and not only at a price less than 300 €, which however has not yet been specified.

  1. I was thinking about getting the ZenFone 2 but this is to epic to miss.

  2. Me too! I was looking the Stonex but I can’t let this escape

  3. I don’t get the pertinence

  4. Every single product that has abused the affection in which the Commodore name is held in has failed. I do not see why this will be any different!

  5. I ordered a phone , payment taken a month ago – and no communication since – so I’ve opened a paypal dispute. It seems these guys do not have the Commodore copyright to use on there products so it is illegal. Do not buy this ! Sadly just another ill thought out rip off of Commodore.
