Under Night In-Birth has been remade for the PS4 and PSVita, its a visual novel fighting game from the PS3 as I remember it and it has been ported and re-released numerous times over the years.
This is one of those niche fighting games and geared heavily towards a certain audience. Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late offers not only a robust combat system and hours and I mean hours of visual novel stories to read. I skimmed through a few of them and I’m not a fan of VNs, the work was very well done.
This remake of UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe: Late[st] includes several new features:
New characters – Phonon, Mika, Enkidu, and Wagner join the battle!
New Stages – 4 new stages to do battle on, Cafeteria, Children͛s Playground, Momiji Alley and the Cathedral of the Far East.
Re-balanced gameplay – Old favorites have new abilities and new gameplay elements have been added, including the ͚Veil Off͛ system that opens up new combo opportunities.
Combo Challenge Mode – Learn new combos and take on some of the hardest challenges in the game.
Tutorial Mode – An expansive tutorial mode has been added to the game that teaches all the skills necessary to level up your game. Chronicle Mode – Discover the narrative of UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe: Late[st] in a dedicated story mode experience.
Whats great about this fighting game is it very easy to pick up and play but at the same time, it has hundreds of different combos especially if you go through the expansive tutorial mode. It’s very simple game when it comes to menus and options, now for a remake, the graphics don’t really seem to be smoothed out. This could be due to it also being released on the PSVita but they are identical games on either PS4 or PSVita when it comes to the graphics or gameplay they both look great. One thing is it does not work on the PSTV but if you have the whitelisthax install it will work on it.
Like I was saying before this a niche fighting game and if you played it before you know what you will be getting in to and for newcomers is a very easy fighting game to get into but with all the other releases this month I know this might get overlooked. We had a great time playing it on both systems and give this game 7.0 for both systems.
