The PlayStation Classic is coming just over two decades after Sony changed gaming forever with the release of the PlayStation. Coming from a Secret partnership with Nintendo to make a CD add-on for the SNES. Instead, Sony decided to release the PlayStation and knock the gaming world on its head.
Jump ahead 25 years and Sony excited to bring it back, in mini form with The PlayStation classic. Following the success that Nintendo has seen recently with the NES Classic and the SNES Classic, it’s now time for Sony to shine.
The PlayStation classic will come with 20 pre-loaded titles, with more to be announced. Titles include some amazing games as Final Fantasy 7, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.
The PlayStation classic will be 45% smaller than the original. It will share the original look and feel by offering remade original controllers for that nostalgic feel.
Select retailers will have pre-orders for US and Canada. while each unit will come with an HDMI, USB, and 2 controllers. Oddly no USB AC adaptor.
The PlayStation classic will debut for the price of $99.99 US and $129.99 in Canada on December 3, 2018.
