Keys open doors!!! PSM hacked & PlayStation cancels purchases on the PS3 and PSVita but is there a reason why??

Earlier today PlayStation announced that they will no longer take payments for PlayStation 3 and PSVita games. Here’s what PlayStation had to say about the canceled purchases.

“Starting 27th October 2021, you can no longer use a credit or debit card, or a payment method such as PayPal, to buy digital content or add funds to your wallet when visiting PlayStation™Store on your PS3™ console or PS Vita system.

To buy digital content for your PS3 console or PS Vita system, you must first add sufficient funds to your wallet on PlayStation Store. You can add funds by redeeming a PlayStation Store gift card, using a credit or debit card, PayPal, or other available payment methods via a desktop computer, mobile device, a PS4 console, or a PS5 console.  How would this affect games that have an in-game store? Can I purchase DLC in an in-game store? You will still be able to purchase content (including DLC) via in-game stores, but you will need to use wallet funds to pay for the content on PlayStation Store. You will not be able to use a credit or debit card, or other payment methods such as PayPal to complete the purchase. Can I still use PlayStation Store gift cards on my PS3 console or PS Vita system? Yes, PlayStation Store gift cards can be used on both PS3 consoles and PS Vita systems. Product vouchers and subscription vouchers can also be used. “

Like always there’s a reason for PlayStation madness and why they would cancel out payments. When we all know what Sony really stands for the money. Well, there are a few good reasons why they are stopping what they’re doing, for one they’re not going to be updating the security for the PS3 or PSVita store. They are just reducing the way someone could attack them especially if they have no plans on maintaining both stores.

Anyway, this is a good thing it’s so the consumer doesn’t get hurt and the company either, while still keeping both stores up and running like they said they would.  You can still add money to your digital wallet from your PC, Phone, PS4, PS5 or you can still use PlayStation Store gift cards on my PS3 console or PSVita. They are just being safe and getting rid of an outdated system but why would they do that so soon.

In my opinion, they just saw something happened that they didn’t think was going to happen as PlayStation Mobile has been hacked after 9 years. Developer KuromeSan has released psse-decrypt, it lets you decrypt Playstation Suite (Playstation Mobile) games and you can see Silica using KuromeSan psse-decrypt tool plus the keys and more to talk the PlayStation store.

This all just seems like too much of a coincidence that one thing happens and then we get a reaction from PlayStation like we have always seen in the past with them. That’s just the feeling I get from them and I know it’s more due to security not being maintained and eventually, someone will crack the store and get all of our information and that would mean game over for them. Well, that’s my two cents on the matter, tell us what you think in the comments below.
