iOS 12 is the first Apple firmware in a hot minute to receive as much attention as it’s been getting. There is now another big player on the scene as we speak. This new entry in the iOS 12 jailbreak scene from Electra brings their own feature set into the mix. Want to know? No problem, let’s get to it!

Chimera has 3 tentpole features that they want you to know about.

1. Full-fledged

‘Chimera is the first true iOS 12 jailbreak to not only feature a CoreTrust bypass so that binaries don’t need to be resigned, but to also support A12 devices, including iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the newest iPads. Chimera doesn’t tamper with user files, making it safer than alternatives.’

2. Stable

‘We’ve rewritten Chimera from the ground up to ensure that there’s no battery drain, freezing, or crashing. There’s simply nothing else like it, and we can’t wait for you to see for yourself.’

3. Modern

‘Chimera comes with a modern package manager, Sileo, featuring a UI made to fit iOS, and packed full of features and speed enhancements to make installing packages a breeze. Rather than sticking to tools built decades ago, it ships with modern system tools designed to take advantage wherever possible.’

Overall Thoughts:

I think if you’re already running unc0ver jailbreak, then you can probably stay where you’re at. I understand that it has a full on, new package manager. But unless you’re the adventuring type, sticking with a solid jailbreak like unc0ver means you’re good. That is assuming that you’re having a good time with unc0ver.

Who I really think this is for those of you who have yet to jailbreak. Additionally, if you’re using a newer A12X device or an AppleTV, this will cover you as long as you don’t update your device. You’ll get all of the benefits listed above with a simple installation to boot! We’ll be posting the instructions for it very soon so stay tuned if you need some steps.
