With HENkaku being the champ of the PSVita homebrew scene there have been so many apps being released it’s been amazing so far. So when I saw over at Wololo forums user BeatPlay had been hard at work on his Better Amphetamine Plugin I was very excited.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Better Amphetamine Plugin is a fork of the reworked Amphetamine plugin by Rinnegatamante which itself was a fork of TheFloW’s original plugin.
Now what the OG program was supposed to do was to allow you to overclock the CPU of your Vita, now with Henkaku R6 you can also slightly overclock your GPU to allow for better performance in games. They do have to be dumped by Vitamin or MaiDumpTool to work.
Here is what is in the change log for this ver,
- add GPU XBAR(Crossbar) frequency(need advanced setting)
- add config for advanced setting and accurate frequency
- add battery temperature
- add game TITLE_ID
This is a very easy to use plugin and install is a breeze just follow the handy instructions below.
How to install it:
- Copy amphetamin.suprx to the ux0:plugins/ folder
- Create a game.txt inside the same folder
- Inside that file put this line: ux0:plugins/amphetamin.suprx 1 and save.
- When inside a dumped game, press SELECT for a few seconds to bring up the overclocking menu.

Hi, a question… why new versions of the plugin doesn’t work (crashes) and the old works?. I tried Project DIVA-X and Limbo to test the plugin. In PD I can’t see it, seems like doesn’t work (Installed it with vitaorganizer-0.3). Limbo crashes (Installed it with VitaShell 1.1). I reinstall Henkaku, but is the same, the new plugin crashes or freezes.
have you tried a fresh install with the updated files?
Yep, and nothing changes. Maybe the games not support the plugin?
Hmmmmm are the games your using dumped with vitamin or mia dump tool????
I tested all again. Step by step… install new Vitashell (1.2), install the new plugin 3.3 (erasing the old plugin). Limbo works fine (old dump), test Velocity Ultra (Vitamin 2.0) and works fine, but PDX (old dump) not work at all. So, old dumps maybe are incompatible. Games are from “PSV Gamelist” (megathread all vita dumps vitapiracy).
