Let’s Talk About Our Safety Online.

I’m here today to talk about a subject that is kinda troubling to most of us on the Internet. I speak of our safety online due to hacking, governments, and big companies wanting our private and personal information. Nowadays it’s all over the news, Internet, and social media you see stories going out all the time.security_privacy_hacker_crime_data_breach_thief_steal_criminal_danger_binary_code_digital_password-100411669-primary.idgeLarge, percentage of these attacks gather users information. This information can be used to steal everything from banking information credit cards and personal names which can be scary for most. Today we’re going to look at a few ways that hackers can get into information that you never thought possible. Ways such as using a simple smartphone programs, and hopefully a few ways you can protect yourself out there.

There are programs that exist for the Android such as DroidSqli which allows the user to find vulnerable websites. Where the user can easily hack the websites that are vulnerable from SQLI but this is nothing new as SQLI attacks happen all the time.

Another one that’s out here is Shark for Root this scary little program allows you to dump files that are created while sniffing out any WIFI networks. These files can contain a lot of data from any WIFI Network that they can later read from a PC with Wireshark Software.

These are just two examples of what people are able to do with an Android smartphone. This is the main reason why you need to protect yourself online.

There are some ways you can do this some are easy while others could be kind of difficult for the novice user. One surefire way to be safe online is to never give out any personal information. One we can do this to protect yourself is to not use your real e-mail address on things such as facebook, twitter, and less clean websites.

You can start by making an e-mail address at Gmail or other free websites. You can make up a name and this can be a simple and Safeway to protect your anonymity. Programs do exist such as KeePass password safe, KeePass is an open source free password manager, it allows you to put all of your passwords and one database which is locked with one master key or a key file.keepass

The benefit of this is you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock your whole database. The safety here is that the database is encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known.

Another good thing to know is that incognito mode for Chrome or private browsing for FireFox and Internet explorer more jokingly known as a way to secretly look for at porn doesn’t do exactly what you might think it does.
What this mode does is it allows you to have clean browsing session. One that is without cookies, no cache files which allows for browsing the net as if you were on a totally new machine.chrome_android_incognito-930x488

One of the better ways to use incognito mode would be to use it in conjunction with a VPN (virtual private network). A VPN gives you an encrypted tunnel between your machine in the VPN exit node this means that any site looking at your IP will actually see the exit node that you are using instead of your actual IP. This mean you’re putting a lot of trust in the VPN provider, make sure you do your homework but if I was to refer one it would be privateinternetaccess.com.

There are even products out there like Silent Pocket to help block only RFID and NFC giving you the utmost protection for your, smartphone, credit cards, passport, ID or anything with a chip.silent_pocket

Now this is just a small amount of what is out there to help protect yourself. The power of knowledge and being aware of what’s out there will help keep you safe. I encourage you to dig deeper on ways to keep yourself safe and how others are trying to get at your information. Just knowing how a hack is done is not necessarily harmful but utilizing it to do malicious and harmful things is when it becomes a problem.

So please stay safe out there while browsing the Internet as always.
I want to thank you for reading today and remember to keep doing it for the love of the game.

Technology is advancing at a rapid pace and most of it is bad for us, the frequencies at which they run at is really not good for us. Not to mention the emf radiation we’re constantly being bombarded with is slowly killing us. The more advanced we get the more dangerous. And sometimes I feel like the companies let their info get stolen just to implement some type of new security/regulations to further screw the people over. And the government… Yeah they’re no good either.
