KONAMI APPROVES AN AMATEUR REMAKE OF THE FIRST METAL GEAR

The team of amateur developers Outer Heaven has decided to embark on a very interesting mission: the reconstruction of the first Metal Gear graphically with completely rebuilt thanks to new technology development.

This is the first installment in the series, originally released in 1987 on the MSX2 in Japan, the progenitor of the stealth action genre. The idea is therefore to create a complete remake of the game with a screenplay magazine, new models and new graphics, in addition to the obvious revisions to the gameplay and a soundtrack completely redone in an orchestral style of Metal Gear Solid 2. “The style of the game will be revised, taking it to be more present and to par with other games in the series, “said the developer Ian Ratcliffe,” we are still undecided on certain aspects, such as the type of shot to be taken, if a bird or as the traditional Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. ”

A very interesting thing, which adds texture to the project, said the support from Konami to this project, which not only did not oppose the exploitation of the name and of the elements of the game, but seems to have also contacted some developers directly:

“it’s great that a company so big grant us to do something like that,” said Ratcliffe yet, “we have received something else, but for now we can not reveal it. Lets just say that things are going great and we are all grateful for this. ” The project is currently scheduled for release on PC with Steam, but if production were to expand the team probably could also consider other platforms.
