The PS4’s new Media Player is out and you should now be able to download. You should finally able to transforms the PS4 into a media center, allowing for playback of movies and music over both wi-fi and USB. Now the media center app is very basic and does not play everything, but its a start in the right direction. Let hope PlayStation will continue adding more support to the Media Player.
The Media Player works with both your home server and when plugging a USB stick with media into one of the available ports on the PS4. Your home server will appear as a media option in the player automatically and finding your media is simple and quick. You may also simply enjoy music as background music on your PS4!
