NES Classic Edition Returning Soon!

November 10, 2016 seems so long ago now when thinking back on it. That was the day that Nintendo dropped the NES Classic Edition originally. Later on, they announced that they would be ceasing the run of the NES Classic Edition. That meant that if you weren’t one of the people who got one, you’d be forced to either pay much more than it originally cost, or just live without it. A little later on Nintendo announced the SNES Classic Edition. That was, for all intents and purposes, the same system internally. It simply featured a different set of games and a different shell. When that was released Nintendo said that they would have plenty of it available and that in the future they would bring back the NES Classic Edition. Well now, dear reader, we have an official date for that re-release!

The official release date will be June 29th, 2018. Now there’s no word on if it will be identical in price as to what it originally was, my guess is that it will be. The fact is that there is only one controller and the cord on it isn’t even that long is a bummer though. Maybe they’ll announce the return of the additional controller for sale separately. There is official confirmation that the game list is still the same full game list, however.

Additionally, they also have stated that they are confident that they will have plenty of units through at least the end of 2018, same as the SNES Classic. What that means for everyone who doesn’t already have one is that you can confidently buy one and not have to pay extra money. I repeat, you will not have to buy from a scalper. Nintendo has already proven that with the SNES model, so please avoid buying one second hand (especially with all of the decent fakes and clones out there).

Here is the trailer for it:
