A couple of days ago YifanLu released his Vita netcheck bypass plugin we talked about earlier. The idea is that it simply bypasses the PSN login check which some games and apps have (but not necessarily need) to work. It doesn’t activate the vita but hopefully sooner other later someone will figure out how to bypass needing a ps3 to activated the PSVita or PSTV of FW3.60
Now seems someone over on reddit has come up with a clever way to setup the account like it was the first time or swapping accounts, going into safe mode with option 4, etc… Just like he say’s this will NOT activate your PSVita or PSTV on the account it will only let you set it up.
Now it hasn’t been tested and you don’t have to do it this way if you ust want the account on the vita, I have another way that is easier at the bottom.
UPDATE: This will let you activate the vita or pstv without a PS3!
thx, i just activated my vita and runing adrenaline.

Here’s how it works..
- set Henkaku DNS (or use vitaupdateblocker)
- install registryeditor
- navigate to /config/np2/ and make the keys for your email and password blank
- install uricaller
- open uricaller and call the uri “psnreg:”
- if you have HenkakuDNS or Vitaupdateblocker running the app will just work
- Sign into or Create your PSN Account
- Press done and the app will auto-exit and assign your account to the system
done!
(also, psnreg: just calls an offical sony app (NPXS10018) ‘psgm:play?titleid=NPXS10018’ would also work.)
There is another way around setting up only the account on the vita. Here how you do it.
Setup the new PSN account online via your pc/mac. Once you have your PSN setup and have the email address/password.
Go set up the PSVita or PSTV; for the first time turning it on, go through the prompt just pick don’t have a psn account and pick trai, then turn it off, turn it on with putting it into safemode pick option 4, go through the prompts and you can setup your account with it not asking you to update.
If you don’t have an account on it already just turn it off, turn it on with putting it into safemode pick option 4, go through the prompts and you can setup your account with it not asking you to update.
Hopefully, sooner or later we won’t need the PS3 for activations anymore but in the mean time its one great vita storage unit. 🙂
