Yifan releases Vita Netcheck Bypass

You know how some games and apps want to check to make sure you have a PSN login, for example how Hulu will only check the psn login and doesn’t require you to really log into PSN it just wants to check if you can. vita sign in

Now this will not let you go the PSN store or even let you link a new vita to your PS4. All this is for is to bypass the psn login check that some games and app do. I haven’t had a chance to test this myself to see what will work and what will not work. Let us know in the comments below what worked for you that wouldn’t before, like Hulu, Crunchyroll or any of the other apps & games.

“Add this to your ux0:tai/config.txt for any application that requires PSN login to bypass it. Note this only bypasses login and the application might fail elsewhere if it requires PSN functions. It’s useful for apps that require PSN but does not use it.

Note: After I made this I realized it still won’t let you link your PS4 to a new Vita for remote play because that actually needs PSN. I haven’t tested anything else.”

About hackinformer

I like to get everyone the right info and I like to help others get the most from there electronic devices. I enjoy playful cleverness and the exploration of technology. My Motto: You own it, you can do whatever you want with it.

  1. Nice, thanks!… (^^)

  2. What do you mean Remote play “Actually” needs PSN? I’ve been Remote playing fine between my Vita and PS4 without internet access to either device (so only over LAN), although PSN was necessary when setting it up the first time. But since it can work offline after that, there ought to be a way of doing the initial config through a reg hack or something. Probably, we’ll need a hack for the PS4 as well.

  3. I really wish I didn’t delete twitch, and after I transferred the PSP demo from my PS3 my PS3 got band so now I need to buy a new PS ID. Because I can’t transfer the games that are on the PS3 to my vita without logging into PSN I wish somebody would make a tool like this for PS3 as well

  4. can you sync trophies with this?

  5. I added the line –

    To my config.txt in uxo:tai/config.txt

    Is this correct?

  6. Does anyone have an example of an app that this would work with? Netflix doesn’t, Crunchyroll doesn’t, and Dramafever and Hulu seem to work without it (at least they work when I’m not running Henkaku)

  7. So, if I did this correctly, which I’m not sure if I did, does this still only work with Netflix and not with Crackle and TuneIn?

  8. I got it to work w Crunchyroll. I don’t have any other apps to test. If you guys have other streaming apps can someone maidump it for us who don’t have them?

    This is what I did:

    1. Enable hidden files on PC (I’m on OSX)
    2. Copy config.txt to Desktop (or where ever)
    3. Edit: (Mine looks like this)

    # You must reboot for changes to take place.
    # henkaku.skprx is hard-coded to load and is not listed here
    # main is a special titleid for SceShell
    # this is for modifying the version string
    # PSN bypass

    4. Save and replace file on PSVita
    5. Reboot

  9. Works for Vita Network Media Server as well.
