Pokemon Sun and Moon has finally hit the 3DS but don’t you wish it was in HD instead of being pixelated on those little screens. Well, Simply Austin has put together his own custom build of Citra the 3DS emulator, using the publically available code.

If you never heard of Citra it’s an open source 3DS emulator and with each build, Citra, continues to get better. We last reported on it in May of 2016. Since then, it has had a few revisions.citra-emulator-1

In this video, he shows us how well Pokemon Sun & Moon would look in HD and its crazy good. Pokemon Sun & Moon looks so damn good, that it makes me think we might see it get ported to the Nintendo Switch even. Now he had to cut out the background sound, so this video wouldn’t get flagged or taken down but he says it sounds fine and there are no FPS jumps in it

“Please do not ask for this build. It is custom so it has NO NAME. It’s made of publically released branches of Citra which have been compiled to make this version. It includes files and code that is protected by Nintendo and Pokemon included in the makeup of the Emulator to make it work. Without it, its useless so if I delete it it will not work. If I include it the video will be taken down and I will have legal and platform issues. 🙁 For the current licensing and respect I have for Citra, again I cannot share.”

“This build is all done using the publically available code and I am sure will be in the Citra Public release VERY soon! If you are despo then GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. There are lots of builds for Citra and some in fact much better than what I have made here. Those of you who have followed me will know I always share and help as much as I can. But as Nintendo is so protective over this franchise, I CANNOT SHARE!”
