Over the weekend Yifanlu was told that the Amphetamin plugin with over clocking really improved the frame rate of a lot of games. As a PSVita owner you should know what I’m talking about when the game just gets choppy and sluggish in a big fight scene or any game that puts to much stress on the system.
Yifanlu then ask if anyone could provide proof that over clocking the GPU really did speed up the game. So, Christian Fandino did just that. In the video below you can see a that there is a difference and enough to convince team molecule bring it to the next release of HENkaku.
Not much longer after the video was posted team molecule release a beta to see how the Vita and PSTV will react to over clocking the GPU.
This new release whitelists a couple of ScePower functions and should allow homebrews and other stuffto set the GPU clock to 222MHz. I believe that setting the CPU clock to 444MHz was always allowed, so this doesn’t change anything in that respect. In order to make sure nothing else is broken (PSN spoofing, dynarec, etc), I’m releasing this as a beta first. Please test and see if the R2 overclocking benefits can be observed in R6.
Again, this does not fix any save issues you see from your dumps. HENkaku R4 fixed one of several save errors that users observed. That save error was experienced by a small minority of users. The majority of save errors are not caused by HENkaku and cannot be fixed by HENkaku.
Stary has graciously hosted the new build at http://henkaku.stary2001.co.uk/ which you can test by visiting on your Vita. You can also set up your own server as always from herehttps://github.com/henkaku/henkaku/releases/tag/v1.5 by following the directions in the README.
No support will be provided for installation. If you can’t get it to work, wait until the official release. If all goes well, I will push the new version in the next couple of days.
- Whitelisted
scePowerSetGpuClockFrequency
,scePowerRequestColdReset
,scePowerRequestStandby
, andscePowerRegisterCallback
- Fixed rare bug which crashes modded SceShell. There is still no PSN spoofing for modded SceShell
- Removed “welcome” message when triggering exploit (was used for debugging and is no longer needed)
