The 3DS community is on a roll and I’m loving the momentum people. First the 3DS receives a port of Linux and now enter Windows 95!!! GBATemp user Shutterbug2000 has Windows 95 on the New 3DS running successfully. Windows 95 runs ok for what the New 3DS offers and as far as the old 3DS is concerned, its not running atm. That could change but expect slightly lower framerate and things of that nature.
This shows off what indeed the 3DS is capable of running awesome homebrew. You can check out the video below to see it in action. Let us know your thoughts and what do you think will be ported next. If you haven’t subscribed to Shutterbug’s youtube channel, I would recommend it to see more proof of concepts of future work. People have reported this is accomplished by running Windows 95 via DOSBox. So theoretically older builds of windows should be able to run as well.

This is no port of Win95, it’s running in DOSBox. Maybe he ported DOSBox to 3DS though, or it existed before (I don’t know).
I suppose it is interesting but what is the point? I only saw Windows 95 loading in the video. What can you actually do with it? Since Windows 95 doesn’t even support USB let alone touch how do you manipulate it? Does the regular 3DS controls and touch stuff work with it?
