Our tournaments are about more than just winning. Evo is open to anyone, feature stations available for relaxed free play, and offer unique opportunities to meet people from different countries and different walks of life who share your passion. Established champions face off against unknown newcomers and new rivals that might have only talked or fought online meet up and become old friends.
Evo is one of the biggest FGC events of the year, and everyone wants to see their favorite game and favorite players make it. Not everyone can be satisfied, especially with the event only being 3 days, but nevertheless the lineup this year is looking pretty solid. Evo will be taking place in Las Vegas, NV as usual at the Mandalay Bay from Aug 2nd – 4th. Registration for the event is now live, you can register here.
The following games were announced for the main stage line-up:
- Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Tekken 7
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
- Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st]
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- SoulCalibur VI
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Samurai Shodown
Definitely a handful of surprises with this year’s line-up, with Samurai Shodown being the most unexpected. We see that unfortunately, Melee will NOT be making a return this year, being the first time it hasn’t been main stage since 2013. Guilty Gear XRD:Rev2’s spot is nowhere in sight unfortunately, but instead we will be getting Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st], and SoulCalibur VI to fill the void. MK11 will be replacing Injustice 2, and likewise Smash Ultimate will replace both Smash for Wii U, and Melee. BlazBlue:CTB and DBFZ will be our two tag fighters, both returning from last year with no Marvel anywhere in sight (press F to pay respects.) Of course your 2 FGC giants SFV:AE and Tekken 7 will be the main highlight of the event, with plenty of smaller side events going on!
