Gameplay:
Gameplay in general for Fairy Tail 2 has been largely revamped. Exploration is seamless as load times (at least on the PS5) are next to none. Players can run from inside the town, to the world map, to another town all with minimal interruption to the gameplay. The battle system has also been largely revamped. It is RPG, yet action. There is a time gauge, while players press button inputs to choose their commands. There are also additional elements to the battle.
There are customization and skill trees as well outside of battle. All of this is done to prep the Fairy Tail Guild for their upcoming battles. However, while playing through the game, nothing seemed super difficult. The higher difficulties do pose some challenges, but nothing extremely difficult. This is a welcome change of pace as it allows for everything to still flow naturally.
Visual/Audio:
Visually, things look improved from the previous entry. Images are much sharper and done better. Audio-wise, the voicework is in complete Japanese, just like the first game. The voice work is done extremely well as well. The soundtrack is also pretty good in terms of the game as well.
Wrap-up/Conclusion:
Fairy Tail 2 is a worthy sequel to the original title. It nearly improves in every aspect from the previous title and does it well enough to keep players engaged until the completion of the game. Sprinkle in the extra content plus the game-only story, Fairy Tail 2 does a great job in delivering a great game.
Until next time, mgs2master2 out!
