Have I got a treat for you! Now I don’t know about you but have you ever wanted to play football (soccer) with a car? Well, the fine people at Psyonix have you covered with Rocket League!! This review is just a preview review since this is only a closed beta as of the date of this post, but i wanted to tell you all how much fun this game is and show off a little of what is to come.
NOW I WANT THIS TO BE CLEAR… THIS IS A BETA! THE GAME IS NOT OUT AT THIS TIME SO THINGS WILL CHANGE AND PARTS OF THE GAME WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE UPON RELEASE.
Rocket League is the successor to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars! A full throttle, physics-based fun ride as in you the driver of what seems to be a souped up rocket dune buggy pit off against other players in football (soccer) using the vehicle’s acrobatic abilities to score on the other players.
In the beta you only have one arena and one car. Custom cars will be in the final game and the match sets are 1 on 1, 2 on 2 and 3 on 3. The game is online so match ups can be a party of your buddies or people on PSN.

The arena has a large crowd around a large sphere and the match takes place inside on a grass field. This is where it gets fun! Each player starts at one point in the outer edge of the sphere with the ball in the center of it all. 3… 2… 1! Everyone floors their car straight at the ball in the center and now begins the chase for the ball by boosting, jumping and bashing into it and everyone in you way to scoring a goal.
This game is a blast in 3 on 3 mode with the high speed and other players crashing into one another. You cant help but have a good time! Peppered around the arena are boost orbs that fill up your gauge and will regenerate around the arena. Boosting helps you demolish other cars and is a big help as you go for the ball.
As listed on their site the full game will have:
Major visual upgrades
Single-player Season mode
Online and Local Splitscreen Multiplayer
Unlockable Vehicles, Arenas and Customization Items
Dedicated gameplay servers
Broadcast-quality replay editor
Regular updates and content/feature drops
Much, much more!
Overall this game is fun and I will be adding this to my game line up when it is released! I hope that you will check this out and add it to your gaming collection as well.
As always you can find me on Twitter @riddle43 and thanks for reading.
