Let’s talk about some emulated gaming for your Android devices. Older consoles are an endearing and memorable part of a lot of our childhoods and not only do we have fond memory’s of these games but they have left such joy in our hearts. Now as Android devices are getting faster and better we are able to live out our childhoods once more in a portable fashion and share this joy with our own kids as well.
Here are 10 of my favorite emulators for the Android platform and I hope you have a chance to try them all.
10) C64.emu: Price $3.99
If you’re into Commodore 64 the most stable one of them is the this. It supports the most number of formats and seems to work better with things like multi-disc support.
9) DraStic DS Emulator Price: $5.99
This is my favorite Nintendo DS emulator out there it the best as for what is out there and offers many options such as cheats and rom compatiblity this is one that can’t be missed for all you NDS fans out there.
8) FPse for Android Price: $3.63
Many say that ePSXe is the best but if you want full control, all the options, and the best overall experience, FPse wins out. With rom compatibility and more tweaks this one is wonderful but there will be a little learning to get it just right but still well worth it.
MAME4droid an emulator that supports a wide array of arcade titles. Featuring the ability to use iON’s iCade and iCP external arcade controllers and even the Nintendo Wii’s Wiimote, MAME4droid allows you to take full control of your favorite arcade titles in a brand new way.
It is actually quite difficult to find a good Sega Genesis emulator on Android but MD.emu fits the bill. This one is an open-source Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega CD, and Master System/Mark III emulator that pretty much covers all of the early Sega years.
5) MegaN64 N64 Emulator Price: Free
It’s not perfect and there are some minor graphical glitches here and there, but it’s the most complete N64 emulator you can get right now. It’s also based on the popular Mupen64 so if you liked that one, this one is pretty similar. Also, it’s free and as we all know free is my favorite price.
4) PPSSPP PSP emulator Price: $5.99
PPSSPP can run your PSP games on your PC in full HD resolution, and play them on Android too. It can even upscale textures that would otherwise be too blurry as they were made for the small screen of the original PSP.
Even on modern Android phones and tablets, you can often run at double the original resolution.
RetroArch is able to emulate a number of systems all at once and the developers are working on ways to have it play movies and have augmented reality stuff. While the future looks great, the present isn’t so bad either. It does have some compatibility problems that a one-system emulator probably wouldn’t have but generally speaking it’s pretty solid.
The Super Nintendo is one of the best consoles of all time and one of the healthiest RPG selections ever. For an emulator, I have to recommend SuperLegacy16. It’s solid and stable with a plethora of options and customizations. It’ll even go find the game art for your ROMs and that gives it a wonderful feel like going through your own hard copy collection.
Despite of the fact that some people are not in favor of actually spending for a software program for emulation, still it is to everyone’s advantage that the said software is priced at two bucks. Apart from this, people may try to go for the trial version first which allows players to try the game Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers.it is interesting to know that the Nesoid would be able to run to almost any kind of NES ROMs.
You can find these on the Google play Store and I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it has helped you find a few emulators for your spare time.
