Shameless – An easy-to-use eShop ticket -> QR code generator for FBI – 3DS

For those of you that have customer firmware on your Nintendo 3DS, it is sometimes a pain to get updates for your games, especially if you are like this blogger; Not trusting OS updates from the big N.  The worst part about installing those game updates is if you get them from other sources, it’s not easily getting ahold of the tickets required to install them.  Shameless aims to change that by letting you generate QR codes for the tickets you need for your game updates downloaded from Nintendo’s CDN.  Shameless is a Windows program and it seems like the author, Housey, felt a calling to fill a need.

“Since FBI 2.1 came out, it includes an option to install tickets by scanning a QR code with a link to the ticket or a link to a CIA and also install titles by pulling the files directly from the Nintendo CDN.

Summary:
This program makes generating QR codes for installation with FBI a little easier. It has a search box and you can find out how big a title is before downloading it on your console if you want. You can also sort the list by clicking the columns.

How to use:
1. Launch the program and let it prepare the database. Shouldn’t take long, it’s about a ~0.3MB download.
2. Select a title and press “Generate QR Code for FBI”. Optionally check “Show size?” to get info about how big the title is from the Nintendo CDN. (this will be either instant or it will take a long time, this is why I made it optional).
3. Scan the QR code with FBI’s QR Code install option in the main menu, it will hopefully install the ticket. It will then ask if you would like to install the contents from the Nintendo CDN. Click “Yes”.shameless2

Shameless looks like an amazing program that has a definitive need and use.  Housey and other devs seem to be upping their game with the releases as of late.  What do you think?

  2. can you add the game kingdom heart 3D dropping distance anyone

    • Not through this method since all tickets are from the official database I believe. For those, you’d just need the .cia file on SD card to install.

  3. I’ve got about 120 games installed on my 3DS, legally. I was thinking about this hack since I heard about it yesterday. Would it be possible to download all the games that I already have, but on another 3DS?

Is there a n00bs guide to how to set this up?
