Ever wanted to have a touch PC but it was too expensive? Well now you can have one

YES ITS FINALLY DONE. 😀 You can have touch on your non-touch PC or Laptop for a reasonable price thanks to Swedish company NeoNode and their product AirBar. Most of the laptops and PC Displays out there don’t have a Touch Display or they are far more expensive then a Display without Touch. AirBar is gonna be at CES Las Vegas 2016 so be sure to take a look at the AirBar and maybe test it for yourself.

So I guess you’re asking yourself: What is AirBar and how does it work?

AirBar is a tiny plug-and-touch bar that attaches to your Display magnetically and once connected to your PCs USB Port starts projecting an invisible light field on the surface of your display that makes it possible to “touch” the screen. You can use all touch commands from Windows 8 and 10 and you can wear gloves. use your fingernails, use your chopsticks or any other thing you would prefer to use, it just doesn’t make a difference. It is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 10 and also Chromebook but not fully supported on OS X yet.

Here is a video of the AirBar in action

For the moment the AirBar is only compatible with 15.6″ Displays (Sadly because my Laptop has a 16.4″ Display ;-;) and you can preorder it now for 49$. It will begin shipping in the first half of 2016.

I think that this is a great Idea and am hoping that they will make a 16.4″ version of the AirBar and many more so that you will be able to use it with a lot more displays. The pricing of the device is fair too because most Touch Displays cost a lot more, or incase of laptops, you can’t exchange your display against a touch display.

  1. My laptop is 17.5″ 🙁

  2. Meh. I prefer to not touch my screen.
If I did end up getting this, I would also try and find a giant screen protector.
