Metal Gear Solid V: Unlock DD as Buddy

In this section we will see how to unlock D-Dog as an ally and buddy of Big Boss making it available to the deployment.

Find DD

To meet the deadly D-Dog puppy you will need to complete the Main Mission 2. Once the little puppy will appear near the landing sites of the Main Missions 3-4-5.

OPTIONAL: You can find D-Dog during free exploration near the Railway Communication, near the village of Shago or around the barracks Wakh Sind.

Unlock DD

Simply look for the dog to the sites mentioned in the section above. Help you with the barking to find it. Once you find shoot a narcotic dart extract it with Fulton. Now go back to the Mother Base and watch the movie together with Ocelot and your new 4-legged friend.

Make DD avaiable for deployment

Before the puppy is ready to go on a mission, you’ll have to exceed 6 Main Missions (maybe overcome always the same as long as 3 of 6 are between 7-8-9-10). Now go back to the Mother Base and when you go will start a movie that will make available as D-Dog Buddy and ready to deploy.

Increse Bond

There are several ways to strengthen relations with the mutt. The following shows what are the best and which ones you should not do, in fact, the bond with the dog can also go down preventing you from getting the bonus:

INCREASING BOND
-Bring with you D-Dog when you go on a mission.
-Develop equipment for D-Dog.
-Jump on the Helicopter along with D-Dog during escapes from trouble spots.
-Do Stun, injure, kill an enemy with D-Dog.
-Watch Movies on D-Dog to Mother Base (valid once for each return to the base).

MISS BOND
-Big Boss inflicts lethal damage D-Dog. NEVER, falls much the bond obtained especially if the damage is extensive.
-D-Dog is seriously wounded during missions from enemies. Try not to put the dog in trouble, and if it were needed, come to his aid.

Actions available

ACTIONS
Each new share will be unlocked increase bonding. The link is shown at the end of the mission in the lower left corner from 10 bullet marks in total that are filled according to the level reached. Below is a list of actions that you can give to the dog in the field, and the number of bullet marks bond required:

0 Whistle – The dog reaches the position of Big Boss, works only from afar.
0 Wait – The dog waits at the selected point. The higher the relationship more time to wait before it follow you.
0 DD – The dog reaches the position of Big Boss.
3 Bark- Great way to lure enemies.

There are other commands that will be unlocked depending on the equipment unlocked for DD that can attack enemies, stun and even recover some if necessary.

RECONNAISSANCE
The distance of the recognition increases with the increase of bond. The link is shown at the end of the mission in the lower left corner from 10 bullet marks in total that are filled according to the level reached. Below is a list of distances that DD reaches and the number of bullet marks bond required:

3-5- 80 m
5-8-100 m
> 8- 120 m
