PS4 Spiderman 2 Review

Spiderman 2 just recently came out on the ps4 and you might have read the other reviews. Well here’s my take on it.

The game actually starts out, with you hunting down Uncle Ben’s killer. Now we all know that’s the first part of any Spiderman story, so don’t understand why its even in SpiderMan 2. After that, you get into the other main missions just like all the other Spiderman games. So, there is no big wow factor to the game, other than if you like Spiderman games and free roaming worlds. Plus it has all kinds of side mission after you beat the main story but that can get boring fast.

The combat controls felt a lot like the Batman Arkham series and Spiderman web of shadows. So it doesn’t stray too far from the basic controls your use too. Now some of the swinging mechanics are, not so great. You can be falling down, toward the city an start pressing the triggers to swing and nothing happens until you all most hit the street floor. Most of the time web swinging is just unreliable and I would run up most buildings instead. They did bring back web-rush, which allows the player to slow down time for speed jumps on a pre-determined building, wall, street lights, etc..

If you have a psvita and you enjoy remote play, they actual did a good job on the button layout for the back touch screen. Instead of using the four little spots on the back to touch for L2/R2 & L3/R3. It just uses left or right back touch, so you don’t have to worry about your fingers being in the right spot every time. It is also great eye candy on the ps4 and psvita, the game has no hiccups or frame rate drops. I had nothing, but a smooth experience while playing the game on the ps4 and remote play with the psvita.

All said in done Spiderman 2 is just a short cheap cash in on the movie. The game seem to be basic off the old Spiderman 2 from over a decade ago, well that’s what it feels like to me. So if you’re looking to pick this up I would say hold off there is nothing amazing about this Spiderman 2.

I hope you like my quick review of spiderman 2, we you like to hear your comments and question below.
